Description
Vineyard
The vineyards lie in the heart of Swartland, where unirrigated bush vines grow in deep, iron-rich Koffieklip and Oakleaf soils. These harsh conditions naturally restrict yields to between 2.5 and 4.5 tons per hectare, ensuring concentrated fruit and layered character. Each variety was planted for its ability to withstand the region’s climate and together they form a blend that reflects both the soil and the season. The composition includes 26% Shiraz, 24% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache Noir, 15% Carignan, 13% Durif, and 7% Tannat.
Tasting Notes
This vintage delivers a silky, smooth texture supported by ripe blackcurrant, cherry, and plum flavours. The six-varietal blend captures the essence of Swartland terroir, balancing fruit richness with subtle spice. Its generous mouthfeel and rounded finish give the wine both elegance and depth.
Food Pairing
The wine pairs naturally with bold flavours. Slow-roasted meat, especially barbequed pork, brings out its savoury edge, while Asian-inspired dishes with plum sauce highlight its fruit-driven side. It is a versatile food companion, suited for both traditional and modern cuisine.
Cellar Potential
Enjoy it now for its smooth fruit and spice. Alternatively, cellar for a few more years to allow the blend to develop greater harmony and depth.
Harvest Date
