Spice Route Sauvignon Blanc 2023

R80.75

Harvest date – mid to late Feb

A wonderful expression of cool climate Darling vines. Enticing aromas of tropical fruits and stone fruit on the nose. The stone fruit notes carry through to the palate which holds a fresh, zippy acidity and an intense lingering mouthfeel.

Winemaking – grapes were machine and hand harvested at sugar levels from 21,5 – 23 degrees Balling.
The grapes were destalked and crushed directly into pneumatic press, juice was retained at 0,9 bar pressure, settled for 48 hours and then fermented in Stainless steel tanks at low temp.
Extended lees contact for a few weeks before blending and bottling.

Description

Five centuries ago, the ancient mariners braved uncharted seas to round the Cape of Good Hope in search of exotic spices. Their nerve, dash and adventurous spirit inspire the Spice Route philosophy. Made with the finest fruit, delicately nurtured by skilful hands in the cellar, Spice Route wines are infinitely enjoyable and add flair and flavour to any occasion, like carefully selected spices bring out depth and dimension in a dish!

We celebrate each varietal’s colour and character with our range of wines, and we hope you will enjoy this sensory journey of discovery!
